UPDATE: Over the Month

Over the month, I’ve been busy with headcrab hunter 3.

It seems that an ESTools error I wasn’t aware of slowed development down where it shouldn’t have. With the August update for Counter-Strike: Source, the re-spawning capability of ESTools broke. It seems a fix had been made, (which I will upload to the website the fixed estools), and now I can stop pulling my hair out and roll over why re-spawning isn’t working!

This post was to make sure you all didn’t think the project died!

Development: 3rd Person “Problems”

In my previous post I got everything working fine. I thought.

Seems that when you switch back out of third person view, your v_ model for your weapon isn’t re-drawn. Seems I have to work out that bug.

Third person view is toggled by a chat command and console command.

Development: 3rd Person

I finally got the 3rd person view to work correctly. Before it would just move your player around without the “moving legs” animation. Now it does!

Development: HurtPulse

This is my second script in ES 2.0 and I have uploaded it to the downloads page.

HurtPulse is a simple script. When you get hurt, the whole screen flashes red. Intensity is based on amount of HP left. You may be thinking doesn’t any FPS game have this lol? Actually, Counter-Strike: Source doesn’t! It only shows a directional red indicator.

This script will also be integrated into Headcrab Hunter 3.

Development: Classmenu

I’ve had the classmenu done and converted into ES 2.0 for a week or two and have uploaded it to the downloads page.

Also, it’s posted on the official eventscripts addons site. Click here to see that page!

Their are much more classes in this menu than in the previous Headcrab Hunter 2. I also think it is much more balanced, but only real public testing can show that.

  • Archivolt : The HeadcrabHunter 2 project is owned by Echo, not me. You may want to ask him instead at ke0.us. Also, the models aren't mines either, they are made by various people.
  • Merzlinn : We need a parasite and the headcrab is a pretty good one for the moment and we dont need code anymore with that
  • Merzlinn : i know but i have a question. We just test the headcrab hunter 2 last night with a map test and the result is pretty cool. Could we modify ur script to keep the headcrab skin for the beggining of our project.

  • Merzlinn : I am also developing a multiplayer mod in which the employees of offices, clamped by the snow in their high office have to try to escape the hunt of a parasite. For the employees, the main way to win is to kill the parasite by trapping him into lights zone or they can also just try to escape. The main idea of gameplay turns around the activation or not of many light zones. Regrettably we have no converter and that's why we based the main part of our work, untils this moment, on the mapping.
